Lucie - Anne-Marie Vedsø Olesen

Condition: Level 3 - Good condition

SHE IS A THOUSAND YEARS OLD
SHE IS A NORDIC CANNIBAL
SHE IS INSATIABLE

Lucie cannot die. All she knows about herself is that a thousand years ago she emerged fully grown from the Trondheimsfjord, that water flows in her veins instead of blood, and that she is periodically overcome by a hunger for living human flesh.

In Copenhagen during a heavy metal festival she meets the former stockbroker Casper and takes him to an opium den. In her intoxication she clearly perceives for the first time spirit-like beings who want to prevent her from learning her own history. Especially when Casper and his closest friend, the religious historian Martin, invite her on a pilgrimage to Trondhjem, the spirits become restless.

During the trek up through Norway, magical things begin to happen. Norse gods appear, talking birds warn of Ragnarok, and the mysterious spirits reveal their true nature. At the same time, Lucie cannot resist her hunger for human flesh and leaves a trail of death behind.

LUCIE is a suspenseful novel about Nordic myths and Christianity, about identity, faith and rationality.
